A Message from Our Founder

At The Contract Advisory, LLC, we believe that doctors deserve to be valued and compensated fairly for their expertise and dedication. That's why we exist - to empower physicians to recognize their true worth and take control of their financial futures.

As the son of a physician, I saw firsthand the struggles doctors face when navigating complex compensation negotiations. Without proper training or support, they often leave thousands of dollars on the table annually, undervaluing their skills and expertise. Many will compromise their financial interests to avoid conflict. Seeing that my dad was going to simply take the first offer given to him, I saw an opportunity to take the expertise I had gained as an NFL agent to help him realize his true value. Upon completion of negotiating his contract following leaving The Cleveland Clinic, I realized this experience was not unique to him. I knew I could help thousands of physicians and felt like I finally found my way to help the people that help everyone else.

That's why we created The Contract Advisory. Our mission is to level the playing field and ensure that doctors receive the compensation they deserve. We do this by:

  • Providing expert negotiation services, backed by market data and a deep understanding of the medical industry

  • Acting as a trusted third-party advocate, protecting doctors' professional relationships while championing their financial interests

  • Educating and empowering physicians to recognize their true value and assert their worth

Jake K Smith

Jake has spent his most recent years as an NFLPA Certified Contract Advisor, working on over $100 Million in contracts. Additionally, he has worked as an independent business and marketing consultant in the medical world. Previously, he graduated with a degree in economics while playing football at The University of Arizona and a M.S. in Sport Management. Growing up in Philadelphia in a family of physicians he was exposed to the medical business from a young age. He is now advocating for physicians to capitalize on their maximum value just as he has done for athletes.

Spencer Ingram

Spencer focuses on the various facets of law that revolve around digital media and technology, whether that’s securing patents and trademarks for wearable tech or negotiating distribution agreements for the now prolific AZL App. Prior to co-founding Harris Ingram, he managed the tech startup accounts for Lee, Wooden & Ziegler LLP. Spencer has represented and advised entrepreneurs on best legal practices for their business for over 15 years.
